COULD YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE?
After completing my studies in Business Education and Business Administration in Graz, my career began in the field of auditing. I was responsible for conducting annual audits of individual and group financial statements, special audits and audits of private foundations. After several exciting years in this field, I took on the role of Head of Finance and Controlling in an international manufacturing technology company. Since July 2023, I’ve been able to bring all my experience to the role of CFO at PAYER Group.
IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT STRENGTHS AND COMPETENCIES MUST A COMPANY DEMONSTRATE IN TERMS OF FINANCE TO ADDRESS THE EXISTING CHALLENGES OF TODAY?
To tackle current economic challenges, a deep understanding of financial management, analysis, and planning is required, along with the ability to quickly adapt to constantly changing economic conditions and respond flexibly to market changes. Particularly, digitization holds great significance across all aspects of a company in today’s times. Therefore, automating manual processes to enhance efficiency within the company and reduce potential errors is crucial. Furthermore, real-time reporting enables a company to be much more proactive and agile in responding to changes in the business environment.
IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT CHARACTERISTICS ARE CRUCIAL FOR A CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER TO ENSURE THE FINANCIAL SUCCESS OF THE COMPANY?
Successful Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) are distinguished by their profound financial expertise, strategic thinking, analytical skills, and effective risk management. In addition to financial expertise, communication skills, team leadership competency, and a collaborative partnership with the CEO are necessary. Moreover, a blend of technological understanding, forward-thinking, negotiation skills, and a commitment to self-development round out the characteristics of accomplished CFOs.

A competent leader places significant emphasis not only on inspiring, motivating, and encouraging employees but also on pushing beyond familiar boundaries to collectively achieve corporate goals within the team. Creating an inclusive environment that acknowledges the diversity of employees and promotes equal opportunities for all is central to successful leadership. Additionally, it is imperative for leaders to possess fundamental knowledge of digital technologies and current trends, using these tools to enhance efficiency in daily work, facilitate communication, and optimize operational processes.
