From the freehand sketch to the finished product
The PAYER development team places high demands on itself and is always trying to be one step ahead of the customer's expectations. This can be achieved by an international R&D team in Austria and China of about 30 highly qualified employees in addition to a high level of experience. The competences range from the development of individual plastic parts up to the complete electrical appliances with electronic, punching and bending components. We are primarily involved in the personal care, medical and automotive sector.
To enter the process is always possible
Customer orientation comes first at PAYER. So entry in the engineering process is possible at any time. When entering early, customers profit from very efficiently designed downstream production processes.
CORE COMPETENCES IN DEVELOPMENT
To ensure efficient product development, PAYER uses CATIA V5® including PLM. The designs are largely implemented in the free-form surface design and the CAD data of the plastic parts are tested for manufacturability with the program Moldex3D.
PAYER offers individual electronics development using Eagle® and LTspice® as well as software development and prototype construction for PCB boards. The long-term experience in the approval of electrically operated small appliances completes the portfolio.
The specialist competence in prototyping assures to react quickly and efficiently to potential doubts regarding optics, haptics and function. Here, PAYER can use the in-house 3D printing (2K-polyjet) as well as the small-series production of tools.
Testing & quality assurance
Every product manufactured by PAYER leaves the company after a series of product and customer-specific tests. PAYER develops product specifications as well as validation plans and carries out concept, design and process FMEA-analyses. In the test laboratories, temperature, reliability and consumption tests, force measurements as well as optical measurements are done, which are always adapted to the current customer requirements.
Initial purchasing integrates suppliers into business processes at an early stage and enables precise cost structure analyses. The partnership-based approach with suppliers is an integral part of the global procurement concept of PAYER.
The development team relies on long-term, competent and reliable partners in the following areas:
- Industrial design
- IP rights (patent, utility, design protection, etc.)
- Technical offices for FEM calculations
- External support for prototype components with special features
