New medical technology partnership with Roche Diagnostics Graz Ltd.

Two strong Styrian firms cooperate in the development and production of medical products.
The PAYER Group has for years been employing its specialized expertise in the development and production of consumer products to succeed in other segmental areas such as Industrial Solutions and Health Care. Now, in collaboration with Roche Diagnostics Ltd the focus is on a new health care project: working in tandem the companies have used innovative production processes to develop new medical products that Roche distributes to medical practitioners and hospitals worldwide. These are systems accessories for blood gas analysis equipment which aid the pre-analytical handling process in respect of quality and safety of operation improvement.
Roche Diagnostics Graz Ltd has over 35 years of expertise in the development and production of systems for diagnosis of vital parameters of biological fluids, in particular, whole blood.
Roche Diagnostics Graz Ltd chose PAYER as OEM partner for two reasons: first, for the positive record it held in other projects; second, PAYER was able to maintain the quality specifications demanded by Roche Diagnostics Graz Ltd and an additional advantage was its regional proximity. PAYER’s long-standing record of experience at its headquarters in St. Bartholomä / West Styria, particularly in the fields of development, automation and injection moulding, and its high degree of expertise in manufacturing, are the foundation for this new area of cooperation.
Within the scope of this project, Roche set about refining an existing accessories system for blood gas analysis equipment and developed an entirely new accessories system as well.
PAYER and Roche Diagnostics Graz Ltd are two Styrian partners who are both equally focussed on development and innovation – a strategy that proves its worth in times of crisis. With a project volume of around five million euros and the focus on the world market, the project is an important building block for the continuing success of both companies.
